AAIDD-LA received a donation from the national office with the purpose of hurricane preparedness. With the start of 2009 hurricane season the Louisiana Chapter distributed Emergency Preparedness Kits to people in the Region V coastal area. The kits were filled with needed items to aid an adult for three days. Each kit included survival type items such as food, water, blanket, and first-aid kit.
